about
“Highway” was co-written, produced and mixed by John Velasquez (Zella Day, Ella Vos), drums by Dan Bailey (Father John Misty, KALI, First Aid Kit), and mastered by Rob Kleiner(HBO’s Euphoria OST/The Weeknd). Ava describes it as her “big country moment”… “like a road trip, lonely and suffering, majestic and distant."
lyrics
Across the state, across the gates
Stay a while
I'm waiting for something real, I'm waiting
I'd drive to you if only I could find the way
Singing your favorite songs
About lovers that got it all wrong
Driving towards the light
Waiting for the signs
I've got nothing, nothing back home
And I got nowhere nowhere to go
Every time I come home I'm bored
Your kiss just another closed door
I've seen all the signs before
every time I saw you I wasn't sure
The palm trees reminding me
I'm hoping for something more
Driving towards the light
Waiting for the signs
I've got nothing, nothing back home
And I got nowhere, nowhere to go
I've been waiting for something real,
waiting for something
That night we sat in a car I knew
I felt so numb you seemed so blue
Maybe we're just overdue
I never can agree with you
And if I could I would change my mind
But I can’t find the other side
The other side
Driving towards the light
Waiting for the signs
I've got nothing, nothing back home
And I got nowhere, nowhere to go
I got nowhere, nowhere, nowhere to go
I got nowhere, nowhere, nowhere to go
I got nowhere, nowhere, nowhere to go
I got nowhere, nowhere, nowhere to go

A smoky yet fragile voice, desert guitars, alien organs, and tribal toms. Ava Vegas writes and produces art-pop that appears
to come from other dimensions. Likely the most unlikely career in German pop in recent years, Ava Vegas originally wanted to build new worlds as an architect, the subject she studied and practiced. However, one day she started building those worlds in her music....more
A dreamy, sonically diverse coming-of-age story from NYC artist mỹ tâm, who infuses art pop with elements of jazz and chiptune.
